Rotating Lessons
In rotating lessons, students rotate through various stations, including one-on-one instruction time with Mrs. Rafferty on the grand piano, during which the student reviews assigned literature, makes corrections, learns new concepts, and receives assignments for the following week. Other rotations occur in the iPad lab and include practice in sight reading, ear training, music theory, music history, composition, technique, and collaborative music. In addition to being fun, the apps and activities used in the studio greatly deepen and extend the students' knowledge and skills and engage their critical thinking skills.
There are 3-4 children in the studio during each lesson. Students in rotating lessons enjoy making music and learning with their musical peers while having the freedom to progress at their own pace.

Rotating lessons are a great mixture of the traditional facets of lessons combined with a social aspect that makes learning fun and gives students even more reason to look forward to lessons each week. Students often encourage and motivate each other as they develop lifelong friendships.
