Genny Rafferty, NCTM, is one of a direct line of prestigious piano teachers reaching back to Franz Liszt and Ludwig Van Beethoven. An award-winning composer and former elementary/middle school choir director, Genny has been teaching private piano lessons since 1994 and private voice lessons since 2002. She attended Grand Canyon University on full music scholarship, graduating in 2003 with a degree in Music Education, Piano and Choral Emphasis, summa cum laude. She went on to become a Nationally Certified Teacher of Music in 2008 through the Music Teachers National Association, a distinction earned by only a small percentage of private music teachers.
Genny has spent the last 25+ years accompanying choirs, soloists, instrumentalists, and pit orchestras throughout Arizona. She has served as an organist for her church congregation since 1995 and has conducted both childrens' and adult choirs and orchestras. Her musical travels have taken her across the U.S. and as far as the Czech Republic, Germany, and Austria.

Genny's students have gone on to study music at the collegiate level, earning scholarships, music education degrees, and other awards, including the AriZoni Award of Excellence. Some students have become music educators in school settings, as well as private piano and voice teachers. However, Genny prides herself on fostering a lifelong love of music that each student carries with them no matter what path they pursue upon graduation.
When she is not teaching, Genny enjoys performing with her husband, an accomplished tenor, high school choir director and member of the Grammy-winning Phoenix Chorale . She loves her family and has five children, three of whom are the inspiration for the name of Triplet Music Studio:

Here's what her students have to say:
John C., student of 12 years:
"Thank you so much for everything you've done for me in the past 12 years. Can you believe it’s been that long? You've seen me grow in more ways than just piano and have been a constant in my life for as long as I can remember. Thank you for all the lessons you've shared with me. The experiences I've had on the piano have taught me so many lifelong skills like work ethic, dedication, time management, fortitude, rhythm, and finger dexterity—if I kept going, I could fill up an entire other page! But one of the more important somethings that I will forever be grateful for is you introducing me to a craft, a skill...a PASSION that I have grown to love and will continue to love for as long as I can still feel the piano keys under my fingertips and still fill a room with resounding song. Thank you again, Miss Genny, for everything you've done for me. Love, John."
Ellie A., student since 2019:
"Thank you so, so much for being my teacher. I look up to you and am so impressed by your knowledge and skill in music and teaching. I look forward to my lessons every week and love how kind and easy you are to talk to."
